Parent-Teacher-Friends Association

The PTFA was re-constituted at Magna Academy in January 2017.

Our first major event at the Academy took place on Friday, 17 November and was entitled Festive Friday. This was a shopping and entertainments event, intended as a little curtain-raiser for the coming Christmas season. We could not have imagined how well the evening was supported. The car park absolutely jammed with vehicles. The stall holders were overwhelmed. The choir sang. The band played. The food and drinks flowed freely. The Magna Pantomime characters were rebooted for one more evening. Santa lost his voice in his grotto. The raffle rattled by.

Money is still coming in to the Treasurer but it would appear at this early stage that we will make a profit from the evening of about £800:00. That is an unbelievably splendid outcome for our first big event. We will keep you updated on this as more monies come in.

Please remember that all profit goes back into the Academy to fund projects that are proposed by the Junior Student Leadership Team (JSLT).

We received this lovely email from Mrs Warr, the Assistant Principal who created and supports the PTFA:

"I genuinely am still buzzing from how busy the evening was. The event was a huge success and it is down to every one of you. Your hard work and excellent event management really paid off. A big, big thank you for everything. You really are all an amazing bunch and I consider myself very lucky."

Thank you to all the stall holders, the staff, students, parents and visitors who made Festive Friday such a great success.
