House Competition: Art

Here at Magna Academy, Ms Munro ran a November 2020 House Competition asking students to channel their inner art genius and come up with illustrations of their favourite characters from books.

The Competition was open to students of all ages and closed on Friday, 13 November.

We were thrilled at the range and the depth of quality of the work we received. In fact, we were so delighted that we created this gallery of winners to share with our wider audience across the world wide web.

In a world where so much entertainment is instant and passive, it is wonderful to see how the reading of books and the ability to lose yourself in the composition of an artwork still hold such strong value for students of secondary school age.

So, take inspiration. Lock away your mobile phone. Find a spare half hour, a sheet of paper and some coloured pencils.
