The students of Magna Academy Poole came together once again this Christmas and donated over 250 food items for Bournemouth Food Bank’s annual Hamper Appeal. The kindness and generosity of our students accompanied with the creativity and innovation to design Christmas themed hamper boxes embodies both the spirit of Christmas and the character and culture of our academy. I am delighted to announce that not only did we hit our pledged target of 200 jars of pasta/curry sauce but we surpassed it significantly. These food items will now be greatly received by families in crisis to help them celebrate the festive season.

A huge thank you to all Magna Academy students/staff that were involved in pledging donations and decorating hampers. This was one of our most successful House activities in terms of effort, engagement and its overall impact on the community. A special thanks must also go to Sixth Form student leaders Oliver C, Neo S, Kayleigh Z, Evie W, Amelia D and Emma M who led on this campaign. This involved presenting the campaign idea during an assembly, collecting boxes for each tutor group, helping to collate and pack donated items and attending the delivery of the items to the Bournemouth Food Bank at Citygate Church on 12/12/2023. The leadership and responsibility you displayed during this process was nothing short of outstanding and all of us at Magna Academy are very proud of your work (and you should be too!).
