Magna Academy Students Shine at SUN Empowering Student Voice Conference 2024

On Wednesday 5th June, fourteen students from Magna Academy’s student leadership team had the privilege of attending the 2024 Empowering Student Voice Conference. Hosted by the Southern Universities Network (SUN) at Bournemouth University, this event was a transformative experience for our young leaders.

The conference featured four dynamic workshops led by various esteemed organisations, including the Speakers Trust, BCP Youth Parliament, Bournemouth University Student Union and Unloc. Each session was meticulously designed to achieve a range of objectives, ensuring that our student leaders left with new skills, innovative ideas and fresh inspiration applicable to all areas of academy life and beyond.

The insights and strategies gained from these workshops will undoubtedly fuel our student leadership team’s enthusiasm for enhancing the student voice model at Magna Academy. We are excited to see the birth of new initiatives and campaigns conceived during this conference, so stay tuned for future developments.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the remarkable organisations that delivered these engaging workshops. A special thanks to the Southern Universities Network for organising such a fantastic and invaluable event. Additionally, we are incredibly proud of our students for their exemplary behaviour and admirable engagement throughout the day. Your positive, proactive, and open-minded approach really impressed us and we are super proud of you all.

As always, keep an eye out for exciting student voice developments coming soon!
