Leadership, courage, resilience and student voice were all on display during this year’s Head Prefect election process, and we are delighted to announce the students who will lead Magna Academy as our Head Prefect Team for the 2026/27 academic year: Sam C, Mirela M, Mia W and Bailey H.

This year’s election saw thirteen students step forward to put themselves forward for one of the most prestigious leadership opportunities in the academy. Through written applications, formal interviews with Principal Mr Midworth and Mr Ginger, campaign speeches and an academy-wide vote, every candidate demonstrated exceptional commitment, character and ambition.

What made this year’s process particularly special was the way candidates supported one another throughout. Despite competing for the same positions, they showed genuine respect, encouragement and teamwork, embodying the very values we seek to promote at Magna Academy.

Our newly appointed prefect team each brought something unique to the process. Sam impressed with his confident and highly accomplished public speaking, while Mirela’s calm, mature and approachable leadership style resonated strongly with students and staff alike. Bailey’s passion, resilience and determination shone through at every stage, and Mia’s infectious positivity, emotional intelligence and ability to lift others around her made a lasting impact on everyone involved.

A total of 669 votes were cast by students and staff, with 659 valid votes counted, demonstrating the continued importance our academy places on student leadership and student voice.

We would also like to thank every candidate who took part in this year’s election. The standard was exceptionally high, making this one of the most competitive selection processes we have ever experienced. Each student should be incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves and the leadership qualities they displayed throughout.

As we look ahead to 2026/27, we are excited to see the ideas, initiatives and positive impact our new Head Prefect Team will bring to Magna Academy. Please join us in congratulating Sam, Mirela, Bailey and Mia on their appointments. We know they will represent our academy with pride and continue to inspire those around them.
