Year 7, 8 and 9: Homework comprises of three tasks of 30 minutes each evening, Monday to Friday, totalling 90 minutes.

Years 10 and 11: Subject homework is comprised of two 1 hour subject homeworks per night. 30 minutes will be self quizzing, whilst the other 30 minutes will be set by the class teacher.

Key Stage 5

Years 12 and 13: Homework is comprised of self-quizzing, as well as further subject specific tasks each week for A Level subjects, totalling 6 hours. For BTEC subjects, homework will be designed to support coursework completion or preparation for any exams. 

Examples of Further Tasks:

  • Preparatory notes
  • Flip learning
  • Practice
  • Exam practice
  • Essay completion
  • Assignment research or write-up
  • DEAR subject specific reading, reflection and response

Each subject teacher will set homework on the same day each week, giving a full week to complete the tasks set – subject to timetabling.
