Students will follow the core homework timetable below. This underpins the learning that takes place within each unit, and it is expected that all tasks are completed in full.

year 11

Subject homework of 30 minutes will be set and checked by the class teacher and may take the form of exam style questions, controlled assessment preparation or other tasks to help prepare students for their final assessments. Targeted revision will be set and checked by the class teacher each fortnight and may include tasks such as self quizzing, effective revision or retrieval practice.

Key Stage 5

Students are expected to complete one hour of homework for each hour of learning within the academy. This homework will consist of effective revision, subject specific homework tasks and wider independent study.

  • Preparatory notes
  • Flip learning
  • Practice
  • Exam practice
  • Essay completion
  • Assignment research or write-up
  • DEAR subject specific reading, reflection and response

Each subject teacher will set homework on the same day each week, giving a full week to complete the tasks set – subject to timetabling.
