That important piece of student voice has led to real change at Magna Academy.
We’re incredibly proud to share that 15 student leaders took part in an impactful Emergency First Aid & CPR workshop on Thursday 1st May, delivered by the brilliant Sally from the British Red Cross. This session marks the next step in our journey to improve CPR and lifesaving education at Magna – a journey led by our students.
Earlier this year, our student leaders launched an incredible campaign highlighting the urgent need for more CPR and first aid education. Their voices didn’t just inspire action – they secured a £250 grant from BCP Council, which we’ve used to invest in CPR manikins and curriculum resources. This powerful campaign was a key reason Magna Academy was awarded BCP’s School Council of the Year for 2024/25 — a huge honour and a testament to the passion and leadership of our students.
With a brand new First Aid & CPR unit launching in Unit 6 as part of our personal development curriculum, even more students will soon benefit from this work.
The future is safer and stronger thanks to our student leaders.
